Pretoria man shot numerous times while escaping attempted hijacking
Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to a scene at about 01:45 at the Diamond Hill toll plaza where they found a man in his vehicle after he had been shot.

Emer-G-Med Operations Manager, Kyle van Reenen, confirmed that the man was treated on the scene by first responders, and stabilised.
“The man was found seated in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated and stabilised at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care,” said Van Reenen.
It was reported that the man sped away in his vehicle after being confronted by an unknown number of suspects attempting to hijack him. The would-be robbers opened fire during their foiled attempt and the man drove about 30 kilometres to evade the robbers and find assistance.
When he arrived at the fuel station, paramedics and police were immediately called to assist.
Van Reenen confirmed that despite the injuries the man suffered, he was expected to recover.
