Comfortable weekend in store for Pretoria this weekend
The South African Weather Service predicts partly cloudy days developing into showers and thundershowers by the evening.
A comfortable weekend is in store for Pretorians this weekend, with partly cloudy days and late showers and thundershowers, according to the South African Weather Service (Saws).
Despite cloudy weather, Pretoria is predicted to have a high UV index this weekend, so lather on the sunblock and don a hat even when it does not appear sunny.
After a partly cloudy day, Friday, December 9 is expected to have late showers and thundershowers from 14:00.
Saturday is expected to be warmer than previously predicted, reaching a maximum of a comfortable 27°C. Showers and thundershowers in the late afternoon and evening may cool off the day.
Sunday will also reach a maximum of a comfortable 27°C, with a chance of rain showers in the morning, developing into showers and thundershowers by the afternoon.
The temperature will drop to a minimum of 17°C for Saturday and 16°C on Sunday.
The temperature will warm up by Monday to a maximum of 29°C with a chance of showers and thundershowers throughout the day. This trend will continue into Tuesday, with the rainy weather expected to break by Wednesday.
Motorists are reminded to be cautious when driving in wet weather, especially in the evenings. A wider following distance is recommended as wet roads can affect the braking distance of your vehicle.
