Police bust 3 for drug possession in north of Pta

The Akasia police telephone line is currently not functional, however, technicians are working on the issues.

Akasia police arrested three men for drug possession in Wonderpark on Thursday.

The three suspects were caught during a crime prevention operation in the area.

Akasia police spokesperson Lindiwe Mabasa said police saw the three sitting outside and asked to search them.

“They discovered drugs and arrested them.”

Police recently embarked on crime prevention campaigns in the area to raise public awareness about crime-related issues.

Station commander Godfrey Zwane also hosted community engagements where he was joined by the CPF and ward councillors to warn residents of trending crimes in the area.

He encouraged community members to report crimes and alert the police of suspicious activities in the community.
