Local NGO educates youth about SA patriotism, flag

The Inaugural Kool 2B South African National Flag Week will take place from April 20 to April 30.

Learners from schools around the metro recently attended a workshop in Freedom Park on the importance of South African patriotism.

Local NGO, Kool 2B South African along with various partners organised the outing as an awareness campaign for their upcoming Kool 2B South African National Flag Week.

“We are excited to see Kool 2B South African’s campaign being a centre for nation-building and social cohesion in our country,” said president and founder Khaya “Kool” Seoketsa.

The workshop, which took place on February 8 and 9 taught the learners about the history of the South African flag and how to fly it.

“The aim of the workshop was to give an opportunity to learners to understand the roadmap history of our flag, the constitutional values it stands for and how to hoist it,” Seoketsa continued.

Aside from Freedom Park, other partners included, the Gauteng education, Tshwane south district, Department of Arts, Culture and Sports and SAPS.
