Truck collision leaves two injured

A light motor vehicle driver sustained serious injuries after a collision with a truck at 02:40 on Saturday on the R21.

The incident occurred on the Nelmapius off-ramp.

CPF member and local ward councillor Jarad Frimmel said: “Upon arrival, it was determined that the occupants of the truck were unharmed, but the driver of the light motor vehicle sustained critical injuries and was entrapped.

“The passenger in the light motor vehicle suffered minor injuries,” said Frimmel.
He said the driver of the light motor vehicle was extracted from the wreckage by paramedics and transported to the nearest medical clinic for further treatment along with the passenger.

Frimmel said the scene was later handed to the TMPD for further investigations.
