Two arrested in Eersterust for stolen motor vehicle

The Eersterust police arrested two suspects on Thursday for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The Eersterust police arrested two suspects on Thursday for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

According to Sergeant Sam Shibambo, the police received information about a suspect stripping an allegedly stolen BMW.

“The police acted swiftly and went to a house where they found a man stripping the wires of a silver car,” said Shibambo.

“The man told the police that he was a motor mechanic hired by two men to strip the vehicle wires.”

Upon further investigation, the police found that the car was stolen in Villieria.

The man stripping the vehicle lead the officers to the two men who had hired him where they were promptly arrested.

“The two suspects cooperated with the police and went to show them where the doors, bonnet and other vehicle components were hidden.

“The duo were arrested and detained at the Eersterust police station pending their first appearance in court,” concluded Shibambo.
