Critically injured man airlifted after Rosslyn crane accident

Paramedics said the man suffered multiple fractures and crush injuries.

Local paramedic service Ambu-Link responded to a scene where a man was entrapped by a crane and sustained serious injuries in Rosslyn.

According to Carla Botha, spokesperson for Ambu-Link, the paramedics responded to the call at around 11:50 on Saturday.

The exact details surrounding the accident are limited at this stage.

“Upon our arrival and assessment, we found that a man had sustained multiple fractures and crush injuries.

“He was treated by Ambu-Link paramedics and Ambu-Link Advanced Life Support.

“He was stabilised before being flown to a nearby local hospital via HALO Aviation.”

Botha said the cause of the accident was unclear at this stage.

She wished the man a speedy recovery.
