Six injured in Centurion head-on collision
A spokesperson urged residents to exercise caution while driving, especially in wet weather.
Six people were injured in a head-on vehicle collision around 19:00 on Nelmapius Drive in Irene, Centurion, on Sunday, March 26.
STVA / Lifemed spokesperson Dean Slater said that the service attended to multiple accidents this weekend, and urged residents to exercise caution while driving, especially in wet weather.
Slater said that medics treated six persons for injuries ranging from moderate to stable.
He said two vehicles had collided head-on and two persons were treated for back and neck injuries, one required advanced life support interventions.
Together with other emergency services that responded, accident victims with minor to moderate injuries were transported to various hospitals for further care.
Slater said that 27 motor vehicle accident victims were transported by STVA / Lifemed since Friday, March 24, with at least two declared dead on the scene.
He said one died on Friday night, and the other in the early hours of Sunday morning.
