Two caught with hijacked motorbikes
Mzansi Tracker traced the two men before police were called to arrest them.
Two suspects were nabbed for possession of motorbikes that were stolen in separate hijacking incidents.
Police arrested the men on April 20 while the suspects were in the process of stripping one of the motorbikes in Olievenhoutbosch extension 36.
Olievenhoutbosch SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Pretty Mokadi, said the two men were arrested following the tracking down of the motorbikes by Mzansi Tracker members.
“Mzansi tracker members approached Olievenhoutbosch police for backup after they tracked two hijacked motorbikes to Olievenhoutbosch,” said Mokadi.
When police members arrived at the scene, they found a group of men stripping one of the hijacked motorbikes.
Upon noticing the police and tracker company members, the suspects attempted to flee the scene.
However, police managed to catch one of the men.
The other motorbike was also tracked to a room in the same yard.
The owner of the room was arrested as well for possession of the hijacked motorbike.
“Both males were arrested for possession of hijacked motorbikes from different cases.”
Mokadi said the suspects would appear in court in due course.
Mokadi urged Tshwane residents to work with police and to contact their nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 if they suspected criminal activity.
