Irene Village Mall hosts another Carnival

One of the shoppers says although playing the games in the carnival is “expensive” the event is ideal for Centurion and nearby residents.

The Irene Village Mall is again a place for the Carnival, which provides interested families, friends and individuals the opportunity to break away for fun during the government school holidays, weekends and public holidays.

According to the shopping centre, the Village Carnival began on April 28 and is scheduled to end on July 30 as it will open on public school holidays, weekends and public holidays.

On Saturday, the event saw a number of people including children and adults enjoying various rides including bumper cars, space fight, venture simulation and crazy wave, among others.

Those in attendance could either enjoy their meals from the various restaurants available at the shopping centre or buy from several stalls at the carnival. The stalls included those selling food, drinks, ice cream as well as clothes and teddies.

One of the shoppers Cecia Masiuna said she enjoyed the event.

“I am enjoying this carnival with my family. The problem is that the tickets are so expensive but we are having fun,” Masiuna said.

She said since there was no Rand Show event taking place at the time, attending the carnival was ideal.

“This is convenient for us in Centurion,” she said, adding that the children are able to enjoy themselves while adults are shopping.

Another shopper Cindy Labuschagne said she was excited to attend the event as it made the day for the children.

“Attending the event is really fun and it makes me happy to see all the children smile.”

Irene Village Mall Marketing Manager Shevaughn Nankervis confirmed that the carnival was suitable for the entire family.

“It is for the entire family as the rides available cater from toddlers up to grannies,” Nankervis said.

She said the carnival trading hours are from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

She said on public holidays it also opens at 10am and closes at 6pm and on school holidays it opens between 10am and 7pm.
