Centurion woman’s car stolen at local carwash
“The manager told us that the man, who was on the phone, claimed to be talking to my husband,” she said.
Wierdabrug police are investigating after a local woman’s car was stolen from a Wierdapark carwash recently.
According to Lorraine Moru, her Lexus ES 250 was stolen from the carwash on Saturday afternoon.
Moru said that her husband had taken the vehicle to a carwash near their home in Wierdapark in the morning.
She said he left the keys with the manager and then came back home.

When the Morus went to fetch the car, they were told a man who claimed to have been sent by the husband had it had come to fetch the car.
The man told the manager the husband was his boss.
“The manager told us that the man, who was on the phone, claimed to be talking to my husband,” she said, adding that the man had left in the car.
“So far, we haven’t heard anything about the case and the man still has my car.”
She said that the car wash had CCTV footage of the incident and asked residents in the area to be on the lookout for her vehicle with registration KJ 38 VK GP.

The carwash manager could not be reached for comment.
Wierdabrug police spokesperson Constable Lwando Ntlebi confirmed that a case of vehicle theft was open at the police station and had since been taken over by the vehicle identification and safeguarding (VIS) unit.
Residents with information or sightings of the car are urged to contact the police on 08600 10111.
