Delicious food brings east residents together
“This one is the coolest market the scenery is awesome, everything about this market is on point,” says Gontse Malatji.
Good weather and delicious food brought Pretoria residents together at the Club Street Side market on Thursday evening.
Friends, families and colleagues dined at the famous food market in Hazelwood, east of Pretoria.

The day was characterised by good music, food and drinks for the thirsty to enjoy the spectacular evening.
Danie de Jager serenaded the attendees with the hits of the 80s as they mingled.

Gontse Malatji said the Club market was by far the “vibiest” of the ones he had attended in the past.
“This one is the coolest market, the scenery is awesome, everything about this market is on point. People who attend the market are friendly, we get to have a decent conversation with each other,” said Malatji.

Jeandre de Bruyn told Rekord that it has been a while since the club hosted the market saying that it is a nice environment for one to come chill with friends and family.

“I came with my family today, so it’s actually nice here and the coolest thing about it is that we actually live around the block, so it is actually cost-effective for us.”
The event was well attended by young professionals and captains of various industries.
One of the patrons, Luke Smith, an accountant said he found the event refreshing after a long stressful day at work.

“I live on my own, so I appreciate such events, especially the ones that are in my neighbourhood, so I won’t be in a hurry to go home,” Smith said.
He, however, said it was the first time he had attended the market. He added that he would be a regular because it was a good place to meet and mingle.

The event was attended by people from as far as Johannesburg.
Thapelo Mashaba came all the way from Joburg to come enjoy the market.

He said he had never attended any of Pretoria markets before.
“I normally attend the ones in Johannesburg, so today I decided to come check this one out and so far I can safely say I am enjoying the atmosphere. People here are not rowdy, they are friendly and one is able to have a discussion with anyone without reservation,” Mashaba said.
