11-year-old child airlifted after an accident on the N14 in Centurion

The cause of the collision between the bakkie and the light motor vehicle is unknown.

Three sustained minor injuries while a child was critically injured after a light motor vehicle collided with a bakkie on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred at the East onramp on the R114 on the N14 in Centurion.

Pro-Med paramedic services responded to a crash involving two vehicles. Pro-Med spokesperson Michael Gough said three people were left with injuries ranging from moderate to severe while the minor was in a critical state.

“The 11-year-old was airlifted by Netcare911’s Emergency helicopter,” he said.

Gough said the cause of the accident was unknown at this stage.

He said the patients were treated on the scene.
“The three injured were treated and stabilised on the scene but declined to be transported to hospitals for further medical care.

Gough said the scene was handed over to the police for further investigation.

The police have yet to comment.
