Four shot dead in Mamelodi East
“Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the killing of four people in Mamelodi on Friday,” said SAPS provincial spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo.
Four men were shot dead in Mamelodi East on Friday afternoon, May 19.
The incident took place at about 16:35, where police found four mean dead at the scene on the corner of Dinamo and Aphane Streets in Mamelodi.
The four men were suspected members of a gang, according to Yusuf Abramjee but police could not confirm this.

Mamelodi East SAPS spokesperson, Sgt. Daphne Maile confirmed that there was a shooting, but could not comment on the matter as the case has been handed to the provincial SAPS.
Provincial SAPS spokesperson Col. Mavela Masondo confirmed the incident, adding that four people were declared dead following the shooting.
However, Masondo said the motive for the killing could not be confirmed at the time.
“Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the killing of four people in Mamelodi on Friday,” said Masondo.

He said that when police arrived on the scene, they found four males with gunshot wounds.
Masondo confirmed that all the victims were certified dead at the scene.
“The motive for the killing cannot be confirmed at this stage.”
Masondo said police have opened a case of murder for investigation.
