Fun Run/walk event to honour legends

The focus was to honour our sporting stalwarts and legends who contributed towards our legacy with the development and administration of sport during the early days.

The Pretoria Legacy Foundation (PLF) celebrated 160 years in the Gauteng chapter about the arrival of Indians in South Africa by hosting Fun Run/Walk event.

The event was held at the Laudium sports ground on Sunday morning.

Ahmed Gani, secretary of the foundation, said since there was not much activity for almost 10 years, the PLF was relaunched in 2021 by members of the Eersterust and Laudium communities.

He said the focus was to honour our sporting stalwarts and legends who contributed towards our legacy with the development and administration of sport during the early days of Marabastad, Lady Selbourne, Claremont and other areas in Tshwane.

“The newly elected committee believed that it was important to trace back the origins of our forebears through the celebration of various events to honour their legacy,” said Gani.
