Water meter thief busted in Elarduspark
The suspect was arrested after an attempt to flee and three water meters were found in his possession
Thanks to a swift response by Bull Security a suspected water meter thief was arrested on Friday night in Elarduspark.
Bull Security spokesperson Jooste French said a suspect has been stealing water meters in the area for the past few weeks.
French said a client informed their control room that their water meter had just been stolen.
“Our units immediately started searching and patrolling the area.”
He said after the patrol another tip-off call came in.
“The client informed us of a suspicious looking person in front of their premises.
“Our units swiftly responded and upon arrival we noted his clothing matched those of a suspect on the video footage we received from a client.”
The suspect was arrested after an attempt to flee and three water meters were found in his possession.
French said the suspect was handed over to the police.
The police have yet to comment.
