Gauteng MEC opens forensic pathology service training room in Ga-Rankuwa
The training room will allow medical students to fulfill their autopsy training within a community- based mortuary facility where they will interact with professionals.
The Gauteng health and wellness MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko officially opened a training room at Ga-Rankuwa forensic pathology service on Tuesday.
The training room will allow medical students to fulfil their autopsy training within a community-based mortuary facility where they will interact with professionals.
Spokesperson Tshepo Shawa said this forms part of Nkomo-Ralehoko’s budget vote commitment to strengthening health services offered by the department through training and ensuring that there are highly skilled people that can contribute to the field of forensic pathology.
“The training room will see the capacitation of medical doctors, undergraduates, doctors and forensic officers, among others,” he said.
The MEC said the Ga-Rankuwa forensic pathology service training room stands as evidence of a shared commitment to advancing medical education.
“In this training room, aspiring forensic pathologists and medical professionals can develop their skills, gain practical knowledge and refine their expertise,” she said.
“By combining Gauteng health department expertise and resources, they can cultivate a new generation of skilled professionals who will contribute to the field of forensic pathology and make a lasting impact on communities they serve.”
