No snow is expected in Pretoria over the weekend

There will be no cold front and snow this coming weekend for Tshwane residents and Gauteng in general.

This was according to the South African weather service (Saws) forecaster Vanish Phakodi.

Phakodi said Pretoria would be fairly chilled as the coastal weather conditions won’t affect Pretorians.

“Pretoria will start having a drop in temperatures on Sunday throughout Monday, otherwise there will be normal sunny days for the rest of the week,” she added.

Phakodi said Sunday’s forecasted temperatures would be from 7ºC to 26ºC.

“Monday morning temperature will be at a minimum of 2ºC to a maximum of 18ºC.”

This comes after reports that Gauteng would experience snowfall as well as cold fronts.

Meanwhile, a yellow Level 1 warning has been issued for Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay which could result in difficulty in navigation at sea for small vessels and personal watercraft.

Free State temperatures are expected to be partly cloudy, windy, and cool with isolated to scattered morning showers and thundershowers over the west. Their neighbour the Northern Cape would be experiencing morning fog patches over the southern and western parts. Otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool except in the northeastern parts where it will be fine, warm and windy.

The Western Cape temperatures are also expected to be cloudy in the morning with fog patches over the northern parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to cold.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly becoming light and moderate north-easterly along the south coast from the late afternoon.
