Three appear in court in Sosh space cookie case

The three men are accused of selling the cookies laced with dagga that landed 90 Pulamadibogo Primary School learners in hospital.

Gauteng MEC of education Matome Chiloane has announced that he is pleased with the arrest of a third suspect in the Soshanguve space cookie case.

The three men are accused of selling the cookies laced with dagga that landed 90 Pulamadibogo Primary School learners in hospital.

The first two suspects, Amukelani Nyalunga (19) and Ofentse Maluleka (21) appeared in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court last week, when the case was postponed to Friday, September 29.

The recently-arrested Katlego Matlala (29) joined his co-accused in the dock on Friday, September 29, when the case was further postponed to Wednesday, October 4.

The three face 28 counts of attempted murder.

Chiloane commended the diligent work of the investigators.

“We wish the affected learners a full recovery during this term 3 recess and hope they return healthy and ready for term 4,” he said.
