Mamelodi police are looking for missing man

The family opened a missing person’s case at the Mamelodi West police station after they had searched for him everywhere with no luck.

A Mamelodi West family is desperately looking for their son who disappeared on January 22.

The family said Themba Charles Matlala (21) was last seen sitting in front of his home, according to relatives.

The family opened a missing person’s case at the Mamelodi West police station after they searched for him everywhere with no luck.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Daphney Maila, said Matlala was last seen wearing a long-sleeved blue T-shirt and khaki trousers.

He speaks Setswana.

According to the information they received, a neighbour saw Matlala in 18th Avenue, next to Jacaranda Mall, in Gezina.

His father Elliot Nkosi (72) reported him missing.

“His father said he last saw his son about 14:00 when it started raining, and after the rain, he went out to look for him, but he was nowhere to be found,” said Maila.

She said when he went back inside the house, his neighbour informed him he had seen Matlala at Jacaranda mall, Rietfontein.

“The complainant then took a taxi to Jacaranda mall but could not find him,” she said.

Maila said Nkosi also went to SAPS Villieria to look for Matlala there without success.

Anyone with information of Matlala’s whereabouts should contact his father, Elliot, on 073 752 7815 or the detective, Sergeant Mamabolo on 079 890 7096.
