Three nabbed with R50k worth of cellphones in CBD operation
Metro police arrested one alleged drug dealer and three suspected robbers during the recent operation.
Nine stolen cellphones valued at around R50 000 were found in the possession of three robbery suspects aged 30 to 45.
The suspects were arrested during a recent police operation conducted by the Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) and its partners in the CBD.
“The three men were committing a robbery on Robert Sobukwe [previously known as Esselen] Street in Sunnyside,” said TMPD spokesperson, Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.
The TMPD’s drug unit was joined by Gauteng crime prevention wardens during the operation.
A 42-year-old alleged drug dealer was also arrested for dealing and possessing drugs (heroin).
