Planned work on the Louwlardia and Brakfontein water meters on February 27 may cause water interruptions.

The Tshwane metro said some areas of Centurion could experience water interruptions on Tuesday, February 27 due to work on two water meters.

Rand Water notified the metro’s water and sanitation department that it needs to replace and upgrade its Louwlardia and Brakfontein water meters.

“The work is scheduled from 09:00 to 17:00. Consumers might experience a water interruption during this time,” the metro said in a statement.

The planned work could affect large areas of the region supplied by these meters.

The metro said the following areas might be affected:

– Country View

– Cranbrook Vale

– Hennopspark

– Highveld

– Kosmosdal

– Louwlardia

– Rooihuiskraal

– Simarlo

– Zwartkop

Residents were advised to use water sparingly while the work was being done:

– Do not water gardens

– Do not wash cars

– Do not clean driveways or pavements using hosepipes

– Do not fill swimming pools

– Flush toilets only when necessary

– Close a running tap while brushing teeth

– Reduce daily water usage as much as possible.
