Drag nights, Irene, April 4

Join your local drag favourites Genie Wish, Annita P and guest artist for the month, Krystal at Railways Café for a performance to remember.

This show is all about feeling good and getting groovy. So, put on those dancing shoes and join the Queens for a night of laughter, crowd interaction and hits from Cher, Miley Cyrus, Madonna and many more.

The show starts at 19:30 on Thursday.

 

Nataniël – Gesels, Lynnwood, April 6

Nataniël returns with his popular series, Gesels.

This year’s theme, presented at the Atterbury Theatre, is “Anxiety, achievement, more anxiety and chocolate”.

The topic will be viewed from all sides, with Nataniel’s characteristic humour, compassion, and insight.

Audience members will even have the chance to submit their questions.

On Saturday there are shows at 11:00 and 15:00.

Dog Fun Fair, Pretoria Boeremark, April 6

Jurassic Bark presents this day of doggy fun at the Pretoria Boeremark in Silverton.

The event starts at 06:30 with a talk from Jurassic Bark before the real fun begins.

There will be 20 exhibitors, a dog sniffing and trick demo, followed by man trailing, a fashion show, a competition draw and protection work.

Park Acoustics, Foresters, April 6

Park Acoustics is back on the rolling green lawns of Foresters, east of Pretoria.

With one of South Africa’s biggest exports, Jeremy Loops, leading the Henry Engelbrecht Main Stage, Moot royalty Desmond and the Tutus, rabble-rousing youngsters Droomsindroom, and Loufie will keep the vibe going, as well as Die Melktert Kommissie, Keanan Eksteen and Black Heidi, with laughs from hilarious MC, King Nqoba.

Gates open at 10:00.

SAAF Museum Training Day, Swartkop, April 6

The South African Airforce Museum’s monthly flying training day this year will be held on Saturday at Swartkop Airforce Base from 08:00 to 13:00.

The attractions will include open aircraft cockpits, a Harvard Club static display, as well sa models and memorabilia on sale, plus – of course – a showcase of the various aircraft of the SAAF Historic Flight Museum.

Entrance to the SAAF Museum is free, but visitors are urged to consider donating towards the upkeep and maintenance of all aircraft preserved in its care.

Prime Circle, Equestria, April 6

Experience the new era of a pillar of South African rock music as Prime Circle heads to Padstal in Equestria.

This year will be a landmark for the internationally sought-after band formed in 2001 as they introduce new lead vocalist, Gavin Edwards.

The band will be marking the occasion with the brand-new EP, “A World We Know”, to be released in June.

Padstal’s show from 21:00 will include the best of Prime Circle’s legendary performances, as well as a preview of their latest endeavours.
