Doggy delights at fun fair

Jurassic Bark Dog Fun Fair on Saturday drew dog lovers from across the city as families at the Boeremark were amazed by the talented pooches.

Dog lovers came to attend an early morning show at the Pretoria Boeremark in Silverton on Saturday.

Residents were treated to interesting demonstrations while Jurassic Bark Dog School brought its friends for a one-of-a-kind exhibition for all things dog-related.

The morning started with an early informative talk on dog training, followed by sniffing and dog trick demonstrations.

Then the true power of the dogs’ talents were put on display as they easily found a person among the crowds.

The fashion show was what many came for, as owners and their pooches dressed to impress, before a competition draw earned one lucky person a weekend getaway.

Monique de Jager, owner of Jurassic Bark, said these types of events were important for the pups as they are part of the family too.

“Dogs are social species and they require daily mental and physical stimulation,” she told Rekord.

She said the show was meant to highlight the enjoyable bonding activities and the diverse dog sports available.

“Positive training methods are crucial for addressing any behavioural issues your dog may have.

“Taking your dog to school has many benefits like strengthening your bond, helping you better understand their needs, and help to create a happy healthy dog who flourishes as part of your family.”
