Miss Face of Mamelodi crowned over the weekend
Miss Face of Mamelodi prepares contestants for the modelling world, boost their personal skills, build their confidence, and have self-respect.
Naledi Makate (11) of Mamelodi East Section SNS came out tops and was crowned Miss Pre-Teen Face of Mamelodi for 2024.
Lethabo Malapane was first princess, and Onthatile Khanye second.
Lethabo Mokwana, organiser of Miss Face of Mams Pretoria, said the pageant has two categories: Miss Teen and Miss Pre-Teen.
The event was open to contestants between the ages of eight and 20.
She said the aim is to empower young girls, and get them away from drugs and activities that could result in them falling pregnant at an early age.

Mokwana said pageantry keeps the children of Mamelodi away from the streets.
She said the event prepares contestants for the modelling world, boosts their social skills, builds their confidence and instils self-respect.
Naledi’s mother, Emma Makate said her daughter was excited to be crowned 2024 Miss Pre-Teen Face of Mamelodi and could not hold back her tears.
She said earlier this year, the Grade 5 learner from Bajabulile Primary School was also named Miss Pretoria East 2nd Princess.
She described her daughter as a loving person and a fighter who never gives up who loves her school work and participates in different community projects.
“She is also a member of the Seventh Mamelodi Scout group and wants to pursue a modelling career.”
Naledi will now participate in the 2024 Face of South Africa in September.
