Erasmuskloof warned of water supply interruption

The interruption is due to scheduled maintenance on Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00.

Parts of Erasmuskloof Ext 3 and surrounds will experience water supply interruptions on Thursday.

Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said city artisans will carry out a tie-in connection to the network.

He said this work will be carried out in Erasmuskloof Ext 3, on the corner of Rubenstein Drive and Peddie Street.

This essential work is scheduled to take up to eight hours from 08:00 to 16:00.

The following areas will be affected:

– Erasmuskloof Ext 3

– Constantia Park Ext 3

– Elardus Park all extensions

– Moreleta Park all extensions

– Wingate Park Ext 1 and 3

“Tshwane apologises for the inconvenience that may be caused by the above-mentioned tie-in connection,” said Mashigo.

He urged residents to continue to make the following water-conservation measures part of their normal lifestyle:

– Do not water or irrigate your garden with a hosepipes or sprinkler system between 06:00 and 18:00

– Do not wash your vehicle with a hosepipe

– Do not refill your swimming pool

– Install a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where possible

– Use a dual-flush toilet cistern

– Use a broom instead of a hosepipe to clean a driveway or patio

– Collect rainwater to reuse in the garden or wash the car

– Cover the swimming pool to reduce water evaporation

– Take a short shower rather than a bath

– Close the tap while brushing teeth or shaving

– Regularly check toilets and taps around the home for leaks.

He urged residents to report water leaks, burst pipes and all water wastage to the metro.
