Police find one dead, another brutally assaulted in Soshanguve

One man was found dead and another with severe injuries to the body and head.

Police found a body and a severely injured man near Pele Primary School in Block XX Soshanguve, in the early hours of Thursday morning, May 2.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said around 04:00 police received a call about a murder in progress.

Van Dyk said both men suffered a serious injury to the head.

He said when police arrived on the scene, a group of community members had gathered, one man was already dead and the other clung on to life.

“He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention,” said Van Dyk.

“The other victim was already deceased.”

Van Dyk said on the scene police found bank cards in a plastic bag, an unspent 5.57mm bullet, and a 9mm blank.

“No arrest has been made at this stage. We are waiting for a doctor’s report on the injured man,” he said.

The motive for this crime is yet to be determined, and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
