Woman (37) accused of murdering her partner out on bail

The suspect allegedly stabbed her partner with a sharp object multiple times.

A 37-year-old woman facing a charge of murder was granted bail following her appearance in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on October 22.

Her appearance follows a tragic incident that occurred on October 20 in the north of Pretoria.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan Van Dyk, the woman was arrested after a domestic dispute in her home in Rosslyn, Klerksoord in the north of Pretoria.

He said the violence escalated, resulting in the death of the suspect’s partner.

“It is alleged that the couple was involved in a heated altercation that quickly turned physical.

“During the confrontation, the victim was fatally stabbed with a sharp object.”

Van Dyk said emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“The precise circumstances that led to this violent outburst remain unclear, and investigators are working to gather more information regarding the nature of the dispute.”

In the aftermath of the incident, the suspect was taken into custody and charged with murder.

She is currently being detained at the Pretoria North SAPS as police continue their investigation.

“The Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court will hear the matter, where the accused will face the legal consequences of her actions.”

He said the suspect was granted bail and the case was postponed to December 4.
