Power supply interruption in industrial area

The city apologises for the inconvenience that may arise as a result of the planned maintenance work this Friday and Sunday on the Gomsand and Rosslyn substations.

The Tshwane metro is alerting residents about a planned power supply interruption this weekend.

The interruption is due to the continuation of maintenance work at the Gomsand and Rosslyn substations.

Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said customers within the Gomsand and Rosslyn substations supply line are being informed about the continuation of the electricity network maintenance work in the area on Friday, December 13, as well as on Sunday, December 15.

Mashigo said on Friday, that the said work is scheduled for two hours, from 10:00 until 12:00, and is expected to affect the power supply to Gomsand Substation.

“As a result, the interruption will only affect the Coke company.”

He said on Sunday, due to construction work that has to be carried out at the Rosslyn 132/11kV Substation, the maintenance work will take 12 hours to conclude, from 08:00 until 20:00.

Mashigo said unfortunately, the following areas and business amenities will be affected:

– BMW
– BEVA
– August/Leaple(MA)
– Nedbank
– ASEA
– Rautenbach

He said in the interest of safety, residents are urged to always treat all apparatus as live.

“The city apologises for the inconvenience that may arise as a result of this planned maintenance work.”
