Support these West NPOs to continue assisting the needy during the holidays
Malusi Youth Development Organisation, Youth for Survival and Soulbent Project are calling on the community to support their initiatives and bring joy to those in need.
Pretoria West local non-profit organisations (NPOs) are gearing up to spread love, kindness and support to those in need during the festive period.
Malusi Youth Development Organisation (Mydo), Youth for Survival and the Soulbent Project all play a vital role in addressing social and economic challenges in the west communities.
Mydo is situated in a marginalised community and focuses on providing essential items to disadvantaged families.
Founder and director of Mydo, Hlakudi Malatji, said the organisation continued to donate food, clothes, shoes and other essential needs to those in need during the festive season.
“We like to make sure that every disadvantaged family is well taken care of during the festive season, without lack of food and clothing items, especially for children.”
To support the operation, individuals can either donate financially or provide food and clothing items.

“With all the donations received, we will set up a date and distribute them to the community, especially the disadvantaged families,” explained Malatji.
He said this will be done with diligence, inclusivity and equality.
Youth for Survival, owned by Mandisa Mathe, provides shelter for abused and homeless men and women including gender-based violence victims.
The shelter feeds about 1 000 people and provides shelter to 500.
This festive season, it wants to collect goodie bags for the children.
She said they need food donations to give residents a special Christmas dinner, which is something beyond their regular shelter meals.
“It will reflect that there is still kindness in the world,” Mathe said.
The organisation will host a Christmas lunch on Christmas Day and invites locals to bring donations.
Soulbent Project focuses on environmental conservation through clean-ups and gardening initiatives.
According to Soulbent CEO Luka Mashudu Makhado, they require donations such as plastic refuse bags, litter pickers, greenhouse tunnels, gloves, masks, reflectors, fencing, and gardening equipment.
Makhado said they also need volunteers.
