Brothers in court for house robbery, kidnapping
The Sithole brothers, who initially appeared in court on January 10 and 15 are set to return for a third appearance on January 22.
The three brothers arrested in connection with a string of house robberies, kidnappings, and possession of stolen goods will appear in the Brits Magistrate’s Court on January 22.
Nyiko (26), Bennett (24), and Derrick (27) Sithole were arrested separately between January 8 and 9 in Winterveldt and Ga-Rankuwa.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the operation began when Nyiko was linked to a house robbery and kidnapping in Hartbeespoort, in November. His fingerprints were found on the scene.
During his arrest, police seized several stolen items and he subsequently implicated his brothers. Bennett was then arrested in Ga-Rankuwa and Derrick in Soshanguve.
“A search of Derrick’s residence resulted in the recovery of a Chevrolet utility bakkie and other stolen items.
“Further investigation led police to Morgan Mphela (51), who had allegedly purchased a stolen Isuzu bakkie from the brothers and dismantled it to sell the parts,” said Mokgwabone.

Mphela is being charged with possession of suspected stolen goods and will appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court.
The brothers first appeared in court on January 10.
