A police operation in Pretoria North on January 22 led to the arrest of a local man for dealing drugs.
The inter-agency operation included the Tshwane Metro Police, Home Affairs, various security companies, and local CPF patrollers.
According to Pretoria North police spokesperson Sergeant Tumisang Moloto, authorities seized over 300 sachets of dagga, valued at over R5 000.
“We also managed to arrest 11 illegal immigrants…and detained [them] for further investigation,” said Moloto.
Moloto said the arrest was part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal drug activities and improve community safety in Pretoria North.
On the same day, another intelligence-driven operation took place in Mabopane, where three suspects involved in drug dealing and possession of unlicensed firearms were detained.

Police spokesperson Captain Johan van Dyk said police identified the suspects’ location as Bheki Section, Klipgat then conducted a takedown around 03:00.
“During a search, police discovered two unlicensed firearms, 24 rounds of ammunition and 11 bags of crystal meth.
“The suspects were charged for possession of unlicensed firearms, illegal ammunition and drugs.”
He said the recovered firearms will undergo forensic analysis to determine whether they were involved in any other criminal activities in the Tshwane or North West regions, where the suspects are believed to have orchestrated armed robberies.
“Investigations into their broader criminal network are ongoing, with the aim of linking them to additional cases.”
Acting Tshwane police commissioner Brigadier Kushie Pietersen commended the police officers and all involved for their diligence and commitment to ensuring the safety of the community.
