Scheduled water supply disruption in Mamelodi on Tuesday
Mamelodi residents in Ext 5 and Ext 8 face water supply interruptions due to essential maintenance on control valves at R4 Reservoir.
Residents of Mamelodi must take note of upcoming water supply interruptions for Tuesday, March 11.
The Tshwane metro’s Department of Water and Sanitation will perform essential maintenance on control valves at the R4 Reservoir zone between 08:00 and 16:00.
Due to this disruption, residents are urged to save water by adhering to the following guidelines:
– Do not water or irrigate gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00.
– Do not wash vehicles with hosepipes.
– Do not fill swimming pools
– Use grey water for irrigating gardens and toilet flushing.
– Install a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where possible.
– Using a dual-flush toilet cistern.
– Planting indigenous or drought-resistant shrubs in the garden.
– Using a broom instead of a hosepipe when cleaning driveways or patios.
– Collect rainwater to reuse in the garden or wash the car.
– Cover the swimming pool to reduce water evaporation.
– Taking a short shower rather than a bath.
– Closing a running tap while brushing teeth or shaving.
– Regularly checking toilets and taps for leaks.
