More police visibility at local malls
Police are working together with CPF to look after consumers, stores at shopping malls and the public at large by increasing the number of patrollers to prevent crime from occurring at this time of the year.

Mamelodi police together with the local CPF have increased their visibility at malls.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Daphney Maila said there is no time to be wasted when it comes to instituting a safety campaign.
He said the safety campaign is a reinforcement plan to guarantee the safety of consumers starting from Monday until the Easter weekend.
Maila said the CPF are working together with police and forms part of crime prevention.
“Therefore, we want to encourage the public to respect them and co-operate with them while they are busy at the mall.
They are working together with the police by intervening when there is a crime and they will be able to assist by calling the police,” said Maila.
She advised the public to respect police because they have volunteered to keep the public safe.
“Police are working together with CPF to look after the consumers, stores at shopping malls and the public at large by increasing the number of patrollers at the malls to prevent crime from occurring at this time of the year,” she said.
Maila advised the public to be careful when shopping.
Police further warned the public about scammers at malls – people pretending to be shop clerks, fortune tellers or police officers.
– Do not listen to anyone who claims to be a fortune teller, even if they claim that you are going to die.
– Do not reveal your personal details over the phone.
– Do not buy things in the street or outside of shops even if the person claims to be a representative thereof.
Maila added customers must approach mall security or police at the mall when they need assistance.
She encouraged residents to report any crimes to the 10111 police line.
