Festivalgoers enjoy food, fun and tequila

Organiser Rudolf Przybylski said the festival was all about fun and celebrating the fine cuisine, tequila and tradition that Mexico has to offer.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Royal Elephant Hotel on Saturday for the Tequila and Mexican Food festival.

Organiser Rudolf Przybylski said the festival was all about fun and celebrating the fine cuisine, tequila and tradition that Mexico has to offer.

“The festival was all about celebrating the food and tequila culture of Mexico,” Przybylski said.

“The organisers want to celebrate the local SME establishments that support the Mexican culture as well, to create an eco-system where they can benefit economically from our patrons,” he said.

Each stall entered a competition where guest judges scored them to determine who makes the best Mexican food in Gauteng and KZN.

Local talent kept everybody entertained with music featuring Pretoria’s own Zaan Sonnekus and Droomsindroom, as well as the ever-popular Spoegwolf and Matthew Mole, among other acts, keeping the rhythm going until late in the evening.
