Reddford House The Hills has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, with the Class of 2024 achieving remarkable results in the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams. As a non-selective school, Reddford House prides itself on ensuring students reach their full potential in a nurturing yet disciplined environment, and this year’s matriculants have proven the effectiveness of that approach.
Among the school’s standout achievers, Keira Blake emerged as a top performer, earning five distinctions with an impressive average of 86%. She excelled in Afrikaans First Additional Language, Dramatic Arts, and English Home Language, achieving a coveted spot in the IEB’s Top 1% for one of her subjects. Keira, who has always set high academic goals for herself, credits her success to meticulous note-taking, speaking study material out loud to reinforce understanding, and extensive practice with past papers.
Reflecting on what motivated her throughout matric, Keira shared: “I’ve always pushed myself to achieve more, setting higher academic goals each year. In Grade 8, I saw a student wearing the white blazer for academic excellence, and I made it my goal to earn one myself. When I achieved that in Grade 10, I set my sights on becoming Dux Scholar. For me, it was about proving to myself that I could always reach for greater things.”
She also praised the unwavering support of her teachers and classmates: “My teachers were phenomenal. They were always available—after school, during breaks, whenever I needed help. My friends also played a huge role in keeping me grounded. We were all navigating the same challenges, and just having moments to laugh, de-stress, and support each other made a big difference.”
Keira identified Pure Mathematics as her most challenging subject, requiring intense focus and persistence. “I really struggled with Maths, and I realised the only way to improve was through practice. I asked my teacher endless questions, went back to the basics, and worked through past papers. Maths is a subject you can’t memorise—you have to understand and apply it in different ways. It was tough, but in the end, the hard work paid off.”
Alongside Keira, Unathi Sishi also achieved five distinctions, with an average of 83%, excelling particularly in Life Orientation, where he scored over 90%. Sudarshan Reddy was another standout performer, securing five distinctions, further reinforcing the strong academic achievements at Reddford House The Hills.
This year’s results underscore the school’s commitment to fostering both academic excellence and personal growth. With students excelling across multiple subjects and achieving Top 1% rankings in the IEB, the Class of 2024 has set a high benchmark for future matriculants.
As these graduates embark on the next chapter of their lives, their achievements at Reddford House The Hills will serve as a strong foundation for future success. Ravi Nadasen, CEO of Inspired Education Group Africa, commented: “The outstanding results of the Class of 2024 reflect not only the resilience, determination, and hard work of our students but also the unwavering commitment and expertise of our dedicated teachers. At Reddford House, we take immense pride in being a non-selective school that fosters an environment where every learner is empowered to achieve their personal best, academically and beyond.
