Military visits disabled children’s home in Pretoria
There was love around the place and the children felt the warmth from the members of the police.
The military police lived up to its motto, “unity is strength” when they spent their Saturday at Little Able’s children sanctuary (LACS).
LACS is the home for children living with disabilities in Pretoria.
Military police spokesperson Seaman Madonsela said they contributed to the repair of the kitchen and also donated toys, toiletries and food to the children.
“The police spent the day installing kitchen cupboards, planting trees, cleaning the premises, washing mattresses and playing with the children,” said Madonsela.

He said the institution was adopted by the Provost Marshal General, Rear Admiral (Junior Grade) Mokgadi Maphoto in 2018.
“He was filled with love the minute he set his eyes on the children at the centre,” he said.
Maphoto said the police must continue to uphold the motto and values of their unit by lending a helping hand whenever possible.
“It is not only our social responsibility as citizens but also as proud members of the SA National Defence Force (SANDF),” said Maphoto, adding that this gesture should be shown whenever time permitted.

“One can donate clothes, money and time. Let us keep on donating what we can and what we have.”
A home board member and staffer thanked the visitors and expressed her utmost gratitude for their contribution and helping hand.
“There was love around the place and the children felt the warmth from the police,” she said.
