CBD licensing station closed for renovations

In the meantime motorists are encouraged to use Akasia, Bronkhorspruit, Centurion, Rayton or Waltloo centres.

The Saambou licensing centre in the Pretoria CBD has closed for renovations, the Tshwane roads and transport department announced.

MMC for Roads and Transport, councillor Dikeledi Selowa said the premises closed on July 29 for extensive renovations to improve service delivery.

Motorists in the area are encouraged to use Akasia, Bronkhorspruit, Centurion, Rayton or Waltloo centres in the meantime.

Selowa cautioned motorists to be wary of persons posing as department officials when they have no affiliation to the metro.

Residents are also informed not to bring cash to traffic centres and rather use debit cards.

“The metro’s traffic departments are cashless and only accept electronic forms of payment as a safety precaution.”

The offices open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on weekdays.

“Once more, I would like to encourage clients to remain vigilant against anyone posing as licensing staff who prey on innocent law-abiding residents,” concluded Selowa.
