NPO goes over and beyond to reach out and be impactful to the needy

Friends of the Needy Fund is an NPO which seeks to provide personal attention and direct benefits to children, the youth, the elderly and their families so they may live dignified lives and achieve their potential to participate in society at large.

It was founded by an extraordinary, dedicated and passionate woman, Madeleine Hammond with an equally committed board that supports the organisation’s objectives.

Friends of the Needy Fund supports underprivileged communities by providing them with material resources such as clothing, furniture and other goods and products, and basic services such as soup kitchens. Social and psychological support is also provided.

Many suburbs are reached out to and with the help of the community, the Friends of the Needy fund can make an impact on people’s lives.

Home of Hope and Teen Challenge Pretoria are some of the beneficiaries of Friends of the Needy Fund.

Earlier this year, the fund hosted a day of celebration at the Lodewyk Spies Old Age Home in Eersterust.

Sheryl Mudly, chairperson of Dynamic Life Changers Foundation was humbled by the experience of having to share a day with the elderly and to know and appreciate the heart of the founder and board of Friends of the Needy Fund.

Pastor Mara Eksteen of Global Faith Church in Eersterust was moved when she had to feed a blind elderly lady, “this was a true test of servanthood”.

To get involved in initiatives hosted by the Friends of the Needy Fund, Hammond can be contacted on 067 730 4883 or hammondmetty@gmail.com.
