Operation Dudula protest outside Kalafong hospital
Operation Dudula also confirmed that it intends to embark on a shutdown protest at Tshwane House later this month.
The Operation Dudula movement recently embarked on a protest action against Kalafong hospital for “prioritising” patients who were foreign nationals over South Africans.
The protest, which took place on August 8, saw numerous Operation Dudula members gathered outside the entrance of the Atteridgeville-based hospital, singing struggle songs and preventing any non-South Africans from entering the premises.
Puleng Tau, the chairperson of Operation Dudula in Atteridgeville, said that this is only the beginning of a series of protests planned to affect the Tshwane metro.
“We are sick and tired of these foreigners. They must all go. They are taking medication and bed space in government hospitals, which are meant to provide for South Africans and we saying ‘enough,’” said Tau.

Operation Dudula also confirmed that it intends to embark on a “shutdown” protest at the Tshwane House in the CBD on August 18.
Tau further stated that the group had met with representatives of Kalafong hospital before the protest, who had reportedly agreed to allow Operation Dudula to hold their protest.

“We had a chat with the CEO and other members. We are allowed to be here to conduct our proceedings. No one is carrying weapons and no one is breaking the law, so Operation Dudula will continue to protest peacefully until all our demands are met,” said Tau.
