Police investigate another tavern shooting in Ga-Rankuwa
The suspects stormed into a tavern in Ga-Rankuwa and held patrons at gunpoint before robbing them.
Police are searching for four persons who shot two patrons while robbing a tavern in Ga-Rankuwa View phase 8.
The suspects stormed into a tavern in Ga-Rankuwa and held patrons at gunpoint before robbing them, according to Gauteng police commissioner Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo.
He said the victims were robbed of cash and cellphones in the early hours of September 3.
“The suspects fired shots inside the tavern, and one patron was fatally wounded while another sustained injuries and was taken to a medical care centre for treatment,” he stated,
Masondo confirmed that the two patrons were men, but their ages are not yet known.
Police have opened a case of murder, attempted murder and business robbery for investigation.
No arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
More than two months ago, two people were shot dead and seven others wounded when unknown suspects fired shots at patrons at Twin Tavern in Ga-Rankuwa.
