Centurion and south residents warned of water supply interruption
The City said the interruption of the water supply was due to a leaking pipe in Gerhardsville.
The Tshwane metro has warned Centurion and south of Pretoria residents about the water supply challenges expected throughout the day.
The City said the interruption of the water supply was due to a leaking pipe in Gerhardsville.
“The residents of Centurion and south of Pretoria are experiencing water supply challenges due to a leaking pipe in Gerhardsville. The affected areas include: Mnandi, Copperleaf and Gerhardsville currently,” the City said in a statement.
Municipality’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo assured residents that the matter was receiving urgent attention, adding that the water supply will be restored as soon as possible.
“The City is arranging materials that will enable plumbers to effect repairs as soon as possible. It is not yet known when the water supply will be restored to the affected areas,” Mashigo added.
In the meantime, roaming water tankers will be arranged as an alternative supply for water for the duration of the interruption.
The spokesperson further said water tankers will be dispatched throughout the day as an alternative to ensure that residents gets the basic services they deserve.
“We apologise for any inconvenience. Please be patient as we try to salvage the problem,” Mashigo concluded.
