Man (53) dies in accident on Kameelfontein road
The cause of the accident is unclear and will form part of an SAPS investigation.
A 53-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after an accident involving a motorcycle and bus on the corner of Kameelfontein Road and Reier Road this morning.
Advanced Paramedic Assist (APA) spokesperson Renata Erasmus said that paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 06:53.
On arrival, paramedics found a male patient still entrapped in the undercarriage of the bus.
“The patient was extricated and extensive advanced life support resuscitation efforts were performed with the help of GPG EMS and their SORT team as well as Kameeldrift CPF and KTS.
“Despite all efforts, the patient succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.”
The APA team would like to give its deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
“A special thank you to all personnel and support services that assisted on the scene,” he said.
