Have you seen this missing young man? He needs help to get home

A distraught Soshanguve family has asked for the public’s help in finding a 16-year-old autistic deaf boy following his disappearance.

According to his brother, Surprise Mshwana, Ezra Mahlangu was last seen on Sunday, August 28, after coming back from a funeral in Soshanguve block XX. He was wearing a greenish top with navy blue jeans.

He said his brother was given food to eat inside the car while his grandfather took a nap near the car, but he was nowhere to be found when they checked the car later.

“In a panic, we searched the whole neighbourhood. While we were busy searching for him in block XX, we were told that he went home,” he said.

Mshwana said they are not aware of who gave him the lift to his home in block CC, where he lived with his grandparents.

“A neighbour saw him entering his home.”

Mshwana said Ezra probably left the house when he realisie he was home alone.

“He then left the house – and that was the last time he was seen.”

Mshwana said the family has opened a missing person’s case at the Rosslyn police station.

He added the family got a lead on Tuesday, August 30 that he was spotted near DC Marivate junior secondary school in block H but he wasn’t found there either.

Mshwana said the grandparents are devastated.

“We are all struggling,” he said.

He said they have searched for Ezra at taxi ranks and other public places.

“Most people have seen our posters. They call us to tell us that they are also praying for his safe return.”

“But we don’t have any further leads right now. He has been missing for two weeks and counting already.”
