Cansa, ReboundSA are ready to bounce – join in online for good cause

ReboundSA founders Keith and Justine McFarlane say that rebounding is not just a fun way to get you moving, it also has health benefits. It can also benefit cancer patients.

Cansa and fitness company ReboundSA are collaborating once again to host their annual national Bounce-a-thon this October 1.

The partners who have been collaborating since 2007, hosted the first Bounce-a-thon last year, where ReboundSA raised R70 000 for Cansa.

ReboundSA studios that are participating in the initiative have since doubled from the first Bounce-a-thon from 20 to 40 – half the fitness company’s 80 nationwide studios.

Cansa’s corporate relationship coordinator and sporting events manager, Leillani Geduld is hopeful that people will take this unique opportunity to get fit and support a worthy cause.

“We care for cancer patients and loved ones with Cansa’s care and support programmes. We invite the public to show they care too by participating in the Bounce-a-thon to help raise sufficient funds for us to continue to do so,” said Geduld.

ReboundSA founders Keith and Justine McFarlane said rebounding is not just a fun way to get you moving, it also provides numerous health benefits.

“Rebounding can be used for many different benefits: vigorous bouncing for a high cardio, minimal impact workout that includes all of the health benefits and low gentle bouncing for health and recovery from illness,” said the McFarlanes.

The ReboundSA founders also mentioned how their exercise regimen can benefit cancer patients.

“Rebounding has immune-supporting benefits on the body, particularly the lymphatic system, which is why it’s recommended as part of a cancer risk reduction strategy,” continued the McFarlanes.

Tickets can be purchased online at Quicket at R100 for a regular class, or R200-R300 for long, specialised classes.

The Bounce-a-thon starts at 08:00 until 16:00 on 1 October.

Participants will receive a free digital book titled Rebounding for Health and Fitness to the value of R150 and access to Cansa’s healthy lifestyle risk assessment for cancer for free. Participants will also be entered into a draw and stand a chance to win prizes.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit their nearest ReboundSA studio or purchase one of the limited Zoom tickets available.

Pretorians can join the initiative online or visit one of the supporting studios:

– 4EverYoung Health and Fitness Studio in Laudium
– Body Bounce in Waverley
– Body to Bounce by Body Intellect in Menlo Park
