Tshwane emergency services phone lines down
Telephone lines to the Tshwane Emergency Services Department call centre were experiencing technical problems, said the City.
The City of Tshwane emergency services department announced on Thursday, October 6, that its call centre was experiencing technical problems with its telephone lines.
It asked residents to contact it using its following alternative numbers for fire and rescue and medical and ambulance services.
Report fire and rescue emergencies at:
– 082 879 1191
– 083 232 5398
– 082 874 0774
– 083 305 0719
For medical and ambulance emergencies, call 112.
Department spokesperson Charles Mabaso said he did not know when the telephone lines would be operational again but that teams had already been dispatched to deal with the problem.
He said that the fault lies with the fibre network in the city and urged residents to circulate the alternative numbers in case of an emergency.
