Man (58) dies in accident on Atterbury Road

Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident involving two vehicles just before 08:00 on Saturday morning.

An accident on Atterbury Road in the east of Pretoria claimed the life of a 58-year-old man on Saturday morning.
The details around the accident are limited at this stage.

According to Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit (Vemru) spokesperson Casper Visser, the man succumbed to his injuries after he was ejected from his vehicle during the accident.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident involving a vehicle and a bakkie just before 08:00,” Visser said.

“The driver of the bakkie had been ejected from his vehicle. He was declared dead on the scene.”

Shortly after the accident, the road had to be closed. However, it was later reopened to traffic.

The exact cause of the accident will form part of a police investigation.
