Both hands and feet of the body were bound.

A decomposed body of a woman was found near the Tsako Thabo high school in Mamelodi East on Thursday.

“Officers were doing their normal patrols when community members told them about the body,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Daphne Maila.

“Police drove to the scene where they found the body behind the school on the river bank on the park side of SNS section.”

Police have already started investigations to establish the cause of death and search for the deceased’s family.

“The body was lying face up and clothed in a pink and white gown, the face covered with a black stocking, the neck was covered with a pinky cloth and there were no shoes.”

She said both hands and feet were bound.

Mamelodi police found a decomposed body next to the river just behind the back yard of Tsako Thabo High school in Mamelodi east.

The body was taken by the forensic department to the government mortuary for an autopsy.

He also appealed for information regarding the victim’s identity or any other leads that can assist them in the investigation.

“The public can remain anonymous with information that can lead to the arrest of the culprit by using the suggestion box at the client service centre entrance,” he said.
