Making a dogs day a little better with the Pretoria Dog Rescue

Highlight of the day included a pooch on Harley Davidson stealing the show.

It was all smiles from both volunteers and dogs at the Pretoria dog rescue (PDR) Walk a Dog Day charity event on Saturday.

Hosted at PDR in Centurion, the organisation invited volunteers and guests to donate essentials, play with the dogs and take them for their much-needed walk.

These furry companions have a history of abuse and with PDR the dogs get a second chance at life and love. With 45 dogs still available to adopt or sponsor, these charity walks allow the dogs to interact with potential owners as well as receive some attention.

The volunteers had the opportunity to walk some hounds around the venue as well as take them to the massive enclosed spaces to run and play.

Families also popped in to donate much needed food and treats and of course walk the dogs. Schools and community groups also participated in the walk and the strong men from event sponsors RCM Letting were there to take on the bigger dogs.

The star of the day, Jossie-be, arrived on a Harley Davidson with owner Lily Rautenbach.
