Man shot multiple times in armed robbery at Centurion shopping centre

“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the victim before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further care.”

A man was left fighting for his life when he was shot multiple times in a robbery at a popular shopping centre in Centurion.

Four men are on the run following the robbery at the mall in Brakfontein Road, Louwlardia, that happened just past 14:00 on Tuesday.

Paramedics responded to the scene where they found a man in his 40s in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.

“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise him before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further care,” said Van Reenen.

“Reports from the scene allege the man was shot during an armed robbery; however, the precise facts will be determined by the SAPS.”

Olievenhoutbosch police spokesperson Sargeant Pretty Mokadi confirmed a case of attempted murder and armed robbery was opened.

Mokadi said that the victim was still in the hospital.

She said that one of the suspects was the driver while the other three robbed the victim.

“An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

“The robbers were driving a white VW Polo with an unknown registration number. We are still waiting for the footage from the mall.”
